-
Step 1: Measure Matcha
Use 1/2 to 1 tsp for thin tea, 2-3 tsp for thick tea with 2 oz water.
-
Step 2: Sieve Matcha
Gently sieve matcha to avoid clumps for better flavor.
-
Step 3: Add Hot Water
Pour 2 oz of hot water (158-176°F) into the bowl, following the bowl's wall.
-
Step 4: Whisk Vigorously
Whisk in “M” motions until frothy, about 10-20 seconds.
-
Step 5: Rest Whisk
Place whisk on holder after use to maintain shape and prolong lifespan.
-
Step 6: Enjoy Matcha
Savor your matcha. Optionally, add water to taste.
Why Use a Sifter?
- Prevents clumps from air moisture.
- Unsifted matcha is hard to foam and tastes bad.
Ideal Water Temperature
- Use water after boiling, not boiling water.
- Ideal temperature: 158-176°F (70-80°C).
